Qualifications and Experience

Kelly has trained to work with children/in childcare for 5 years and continue to update my knowledge and skills with courses and training. My qualifications and experiences to date are:

Qualifications: Ba (hons) ITE in Primary Education, BTEC National Diploma in the Early Years, Introduction to Childcare Practise Course, As psychology, 8 GCSE's grades A-C. As well as a paediatric first aid certificate and beginners makaton. Food hygiene has also been completed.

Experience: As part of teacher training at UWE in Bristol, and childcare courses at city of Bristol college, she has had vast experience working in a range of settings, including primary schools, nurseries and special educational needs settings. she has also been in a variety of roles including supply teaching/nursery nursing, a creche/kids club assistant, a nanny and even a children's party host. The ages she has cared for vary from birth to 10 years.

She has been childminding since February 2011 caring for children between 9m and 8yrs.

She has baby massage experience and have completed training in the new EYFS.

Justin has only been registered more recently, however has completed the compulsory introduction to childcare practise course, is first aid trained and DBS checked. He continues to continually develop his knowledge through training and courses.

As part of our day, we like to take the children on regular outings to give opportunities for exploration, excitement and to experience the world around them. Some of these outings will be free of charge, however some may require a small fee.If any outing requires payment exceeding £2 you will be notified in advance. Outings include:

Free: Withywood park, Hengrove park, Museum, childminding groups at local children's centre, library, local shops (such as garden centres, supermarkets, toy shops, banks, post offices).

Payment: Cinema, zoos, farms, soft play, swimming, some toddler groups and sessions, bowling and many more.....

(Activities suitable for older children only, will not occur regularly and will only occur in school holidays with all parents permission. During this time younger children will be stimulated by providing toys and activies suitable to the setting.)

Throughout the day, children will be provided with the meals appropriate to the time they are in my care. This includes lunch (around 12 noon), snacks (around 10 and 2) and tea (around 4.00). Breakfast can be provided at a charge of 50p per child. Meals throughout the day will be healthy incorporating plenty of fruit and veg. I am able to provide for a variety of dietary needs.

Any meals you would like to see added/removed from my menus please do not hesitate to let me know and I will take your wishes into consideration. Menus are not followed strictly but provide an idea of the sorts of foods your children will be eating.
